Can I dance while pregnant?
Yes, Bellydancing helps increase blood flow to the pelvis & trains your muscles for birthing & recovery. Please speak to me before class & seek advice from your GP/Midwife/Doula.
Can I bring my children?
There are no childcare facilities available at any classes, however at the Herne Hill class, running alongside our classes are contemporary, street and hip-hop dance classes for girls and boys aged 4 up with trained and enthusiastic teachers. Please contact Diverse Dance on 07894438164 for more details.
What should I wear?
For classes the most important thing is to feel comfortable, so you are able to relax and have fun! So, leggings, loose stretchy trousers, a long skirt & a comfortable top with bare feet or ballet shoes are fine. Hip scarves accentuate your movements & immediately transform you into an empress; bring your own along or purchase from a wide range available in class. Classes are women only, but some students prefer to wear their hijab in class.
Is the tutor qualified?
Yes, I have a JWAAD Certificate in Teaching Egyptian Dance & am currently studying for the Diploma; I also have Professional Liability Insurance and a PPL license.
Do I have to book the whole course?
You are welcome to attend any of the classes on a ‘drop in’ basis at anytime during the course, though your dancing will improve the more often you come & there are great savings if you book a course.
How do I pay?
Payment for classes is accepted in cash. Fees are non-refundable. Students will be asked to complete a registration form. Please book directly with tutor. We will soon have the facility to pay online for drop-in classes, courses and retreat deposits.
*Minimum age 14 years old.
Do I have to bring my own dance gear to Tobago?
Yes, bellydance hip scarves, costumes and props will not be provided, so you’ll need to bring your own dancing gear. A limited number of hip scarves will be available to buy onsite.
Are flights included?
No, you will need to pay for and book your flights separately; many direct flights are available from the UK to Crown Point Airport in Tobago. Airlines include Monarch (charter flight), BA and Virgin Atlantic (scheduled flights).
What if I have special dietary requirements?
We are happy to accommodate special dietary requirements, just let us know what they are! Please include as much detail as possible in the space on the booking form. We will try our utmost to accommodate your requests and recognise how important this for many of you.
